Subbi
For SNAs and for schools

SNA cover, sorted.

Subbi connects Irish schools with Garda-vetted Special Needs Assistants for same-day absences and longer-term cover. Free for SNAs to join, and built around the compliance your school already has to track.

Why SNAs use Subbi

Cover requests come to you

Set your county, travel distance and weekly availability. When a school nearby needs SNA cover, you're notified straight away.

Vetting kept in one place

Garda vetting and Child Safeguarding dates live on your profile, and Subbi warns you before they expire.

Free to join

No fee to create a profile or accept work. Schools see verified SNAs only, so your profile stands out once approved.

How SNA cover works

  1. 1. The school posts the absence. Date, hours and whether it's teacher or SNA cover.
  2. 2. Nearby SNAs are notified. Verified SNAs within travel distance get an alert.
  3. 3. Cover is confirmed. The school confirms an SNA and both sides get the details.

SNA pay

SNAs are paid on the Department of Education incremental salary scale. Your rate depends on your point on the scale and whether you entered employment before or after 1 January 2011. Your school confirms your rate and submits your claim — Subbi does not process, hold or pay wages.
